Pet Legacy Network

See the animal. Build the team. Coordinate the help.

PLN Animal Advocates gives people who want to help animals a structured way to turn concern into coordinated action — instead of scattered texts, comment threads, and posts that disappear.

You do not need to run a rescue. You do not need to do everything yourself.

Why this exists

Caring is rarely the hard part. Coordinating is.

Most people who see an animal in trouble get stuck on the same questions — and every unanswered question costs the animal time.

Why PLN Animal Advocates exists

  • Who should I contact about this animal?
  • Has a rescue already been called?
  • Does this animal need a foster right now?
  • Who is handling transport?
  • Has anyone actually followed up?
  • Who else is working on this animal?
  • Which details here are verified?
  • How can I help without doing everything myself?

How it works

Help organized around the animal

An animal becomes a case. The case opens the paths that may be needed. Everything reports back into one shared record.

How coordination works

A rescue dog and a tabby cat sitting together on a porch

Animal Case

One record every helper works from.

The case opens up the paths that might be needed:

  • Advocate
  • Rescue
  • Foster
  • Transport
  • Vet & resources
  • Social advocacy
all reporting back into

Coordinated action

One shared history, working toward safety for the animal.

See the animal. Build the team. Coordinate the help.

Ways to participate

You don't need to run a rescue

Pick the part you can actually do. Other advocates cover the rest.

Ways to participate

Advocate & research
Gather and confirm details about an animal, find programs and organizations that fit the situation, and keep the record accurate.
Coordinate
Keep a case moving: track what has been asked, who answered, what is still open, and what happens next.
Foster
Offer temporary space, or help find and confirm a foster placement through partners already working in the area.
Transport
Drive a leg, help plan a route, or connect a case with transport volunteers and partners.
Communicate
Send outreach to shelters, rescues, clinics and other partners, and log what came back so nobody repeats it.
Share
Bring attention to an animal's page so more people who can act actually see it.

Advocate tools

The infrastructure you get

Each item is labeled by what is usable today versus what is still being built. We would rather under-promise.

Advocate tools

Animal Cases with dispositions
Beta
Create a case for an animal and track it through Open, Monitoring, Resolved, Closed and other dispositions instead of scattered messages.
Private advocate notes
Beta
Add attributed notes to a case or a partner listing so the next advocate sees what already happened.
Case tasks
Beta
Assign and complete concrete next steps, with finished work folded away so the open items stay visible.
Care Team & internal messaging
Beta
The care team is the real network around one animal — shelter, rescue, foster, adopter, transporter, veterinary provider, owner — plus the advocates coordinating it, all talking in a thread tied to that animal instead of a group text.
National shelter & rescue search
Beta
Search partners by location, service tags (lost & found, surrender, foster, rescue, shelter) and animal type, with contact details you can correct.
Outreach email logging
Beta
Send partner outreach from a case and keep the replies attached to the animal's record.
Resource intelligence
Available
Search verified local assistance — veterinary aid, food, housing, temporary care, spay/neuter — with species-accurate results.
PLN Advocate Coalitions
Coming soon
Reusable groups of advocates who work cases together across many animals. A coalition is a group of advocates organized through Pet Legacy Network — never a shelter, rescue, nonprofit, or agency. Cases keep working without one.
Advocacy image maker
Coming soon
Build shareable advocacy graphics for an animal directly from the case record.
Advocate email addresses
Coming soon
A dedicated PLN sending address per advocate, with replies routed back into the case.
Case fundraising
Coming soon
Raise funds toward a specific animal's care with transparent reporting.

Items marked coming soon are in development and are not available yet.

How it fits together

Three different things, kept separate on purpose

Who someone is to the animal, what an advocate is doing, and how advocates group up are never the same question.

Care teams, advocates, and coalitions

Care Team
The real network around ONE animal: the current shelter, a rescue, a foster, an adopter, a transporter, a veterinary provider, the owner — plus the advocates coordinating them.
PLN Animal Advocate
An advocate doing the work: research, rescue and foster outreach, transport research, follow-up, social advocacy. An advocate searching for a foster is not the foster.
PLN Advocate Coalition
A reusable group of advocates working many cases together. A coalition is a group of advocates organized through Pet Legacy Network — not a shelter, rescue, nonprofit, or agency.

What makes it different

Not another place to post about an animal

Sharing an animal spreads awareness. Coordinating one moves the animal.

What makes PLN Animal Advocates different

Organized around the animal
Everything — people, outreach, notes, tasks — attaches to one Animal Case, so the animal is the record instead of a thread that scrolls away.
Verified vs. unverified
Details are labeled by how well they are confirmed, so nobody acts on a rumor and nobody dismisses a real need.
Shared history
Prior outreach and answers stay visible, so the fifth advocate does not call the same shelter for the fifth time.
You can work alone or together
One advocate can carry a case start to finish. A care team forms as real participants commit to the animal, and a coalition is how a group of advocates works many cases together.

We help coordinate, connect, organize, advocate and support. We work toward safety and possible solutions for an animal. We do not promise outcomes, and no advocate should — what we can promise is that effort is organized, recorded and shared.
