Meet Ebenezer

Hi, I’m Ebenezer! I’m an approximately 4-year-old, 40-pound boy, and my rescue friends believe I’m a Kai Ken mix, possibly with some Shepherd mixed in. I’m a handsome guy, but my friends will tell you that what makes me special is my heart—and how far I’ve come. When I first came into rescue, I was completely shut down. My time in the shelter was incredibly traumatic for me, and I also arrived with an injury to my back. I was scared, overwhelmed, and completely unsure of what was happening around me. Everything had changed, and I didn’t know where I was or who I could trust. I didn’t want to leave my kennel. I didn’t want to explore. I didn’t want to interact with the world around me. I just wanted to feel safe. And even though I was scared and hurting, there was something my foster family noticed right away: I was always incredibly sweet and friendly. I never stopped wanting…
